Senior Women's
The Senior Women's side had a tough match on the weekend, losing 5-1 to Macquarie United over at Proctor Park, who sit two points clear of the Mudgee Wolves in the top four after the weekend's results.
The Eagles will travel to Mudgee this weekend to take on the Wolves at the Glen Willow Sporting Complex in their last game before a scheduled bye, and will aim to keep up with the steady improvement, especially after their draw the week prior against CSU.
Senior Men's
A best afield performance from Shaun Mortyne and Mitch Beer wasn't quite enough to get the Eagles a winning result, but an early goal from Bevan Foxall, where he challenged three times before putting the ball into the top corner, did help the home side secure a 1-1 draw against Barnstoneworth United.
Cowra dominated play early, with the visitors only getting their first shot at goal in the 25th minute.
However, Barnstoneworth made the most of their opportunities, including one well executed corner that led to the equaliser, despite Mitch Thompson making a couple of great saves before that.
The Eagles will host the Barnstoneworth Saints at Edgell Park this Saturday afternoon, with kick-off at 3.15pm.
Reserve Men's
The reserves had two fixtures over the weekend, with a Saturday match up against the league leading Barnstoneworth United followed by a make-up fixture against the Cyms Gold team.
The first fixture was a well fought 2-2 draw, with Nathan Taylor scoring a brace in a close contest, with both sides struggling to hold the ball at one end for an extended period of time.
While the Eagles scored first through Nathan Taylor, the visitors bounced back making it 1-1 at half-time, and the pattern was similar again in the second half, with Taylor's second goal countered by a Barnstoneworth header from the corner.
From there the Barnies continued to press, and while Cowra's defence lacked purpose with its ball movement, it held on to the draw. Ryan Hattenfels and Mark Gorden were the best for Cowra in the result.
After a tough Saturday match, the Eagles backed up on Sunday with a win in a make-up game against the Cyms Gold side, taking home the points after a 1-0 result.
Luke Boyd scored the solitary goal for the home team early, in the first five minutes of the game.
From there, Cowra controlled the game, with only a disallowed Darren Heike goal (He was ruled to be offside) marring the win, a crucial result that helps keep the team's top four hopes alive with only three games left in the season.
The Reserves will take on the Millthorpe Tigers at home this weekend.
