The Dubbo Rhinos and Narromine Gorillas, as forecast last weekend, will kick things off at 12.30pm in what promises to be an entertaining game between the neighbouring towns, who were could only be separated by four seasons at the end of the regular season.
Similarly, the reserves grade derby between the two Orange sides - the Emus and City Lions - promises to be a thriller, with there set to be no shortage of on-field clashes from 1.45pm down at the Eagle's nest.
Likewise, as mentioned last week, the Eagles and Forbes have plenty to play for, with the Platypi arriving into this week's finals in rip-roaring form, winning three out of their last four to leap past the Kangaroos and secure a finals berth, while the Eagles will be hoping to mark Jeremy Montgomery's 200 club games and Troy Jeff's return to the field with a win.
With so much to play for all teams, and a regionally renowned canteen, local footy fans would be foolish to miss out on Sunday's footy, which also offers one of the last opportunities to see the Eagles at home for the year.
The winner of Sunday's first grade match will take on the loser of Saturday's clash between the Bathurst Bulldogs and Orange Emus at Anne Ashwood Park.
