Cowra Daffodil Day volunteer, Sylvia White, said the money raised goes to the Cancer Council’s research and support programs.
“I’ve been doing it for quite a few years now and people are very generous,” she said.
“If they don’t want to buy merchandise or flowers, they put a donation in the bucket, most people have someone who’s been touched by cancer.
“I started off because my grandson was diagnosed when he was six, but he’s fit and well now completing Year 12,” she said
Ms White said it was the amazing stories she heard while volunteering that made the effort worthwhile.
Ms White and a group of volunteers will be set up On Friday in the Coles Plaza from 9am to 4pm.
