Running on Saturday, August 25, the campaign sees Carlton donating 1000 kegs of Great Northern Crisp to venues across Queensland, NSW and Victoria, with all proceeds from these kegs being donated to Rotary Australia’s drought relief fund.
Coca-Cola has also gotten on board donating kegs on its craft brew Yenda for the day.
Publican Lyn Ritter said they were hoping to outdo the $3000 they had raised on Friday night.
“This is a little bit of a challenge where we can try to outdo all the other pubs and raise the most money,” she said.
“Come along and get behind it, this little pub raised three grand on Friday night, so I hope we can do better.
“My husband came off a dairy farm in Gloucester, I’ve had B-double tippers carting grain and fertilizer for the last ten years, so I know what the drought is like,” she said.
Mrs Ritter said the Beer Garden is where all the action would be.
“We’ll go for 12 hours, starting at 10am and going to 10pm, schooners will be $5 and middies will be $4,” she said.
“There will also be a barbecue breakfast with egg and bacon sandwiches, a barbecue lunch with sausage and steak sandwiches before the Bistro opens at 5pm. There’s also eight large meat trays to raffle off.
“All those funds plus any donation put in our donation buckets will go to the fundraiser. The Bar and Bistro staff also had the idea to take pay cuts on the day, with that pay also going toward the fundraiser,” she said.
There will also be live entertainment on the day "Ash and Tameka" playing from 10am to 5pm followed by "5 O'Clock Shadow" from 6pm to 11.30pm.
The Courtesy bus will be available throughout the day and there will be a "Kelly" pool competition in the afternoon, with the winner taking all.
