It comes after Cowra's lockdown was lifted at 12.01am on Tuesday.
Speaking at the state's 11am press conference, Dr Jeremy McAnulty said cases had declined however there was also a drop in testing numbers.
"In Western NSW, we've seen eight new cases including four in Wellington, two in Narromine and one each in Cowra and Dubbo," Dr McAnulty said.
"We're seeing a decline in numbers in recent days, but we've also seen a slight decline in testing so we really encourage people to come forward for testing.
"As we get closer to more people getting vaccinated in the community, it's really important we all maintain our vigilance for symptoms and come forward for testing so we don't miss cases."
