The regulations come as a result of the Federal and State Governments relaxing some of the coronavirus restrictions, allowing masses for up to 10 persons to recommence across St Rapahel's Parish as from Tuesday, May 19.
The masses will be held as follows:
- St Raphael's, Cowra: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday at 9am. Thurday and Friday at 5.45pm. Saturday 6pm and Sunday 8am.
- St Edward's, Canowindra: Thursday at 9am and Sunday at 10am.
- St John the Baptist, Eugowra: On the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month at 5pm.
- St Malachy's, Gooloogong: On the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month at 5pm.
- St Brigid's, Woodstock: On the 2nd Saturday of the month at 9am.
- St Vincent's, Wyangala: On the 3rd Saturday of the month at 9am.
- St Raphael's Church will be open for private prayer from 9-10am on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and 5.30- 6.30pm on Thursday and Friday, Saturday 5.30pm, Sunday 7.30am.
In order to attend mass in Cowra, Canowindra and Eugowra, Father Laurie Beath, said parishioners must register for a particular day each week through the Parish Office on 6342 1369 between 9.30am-12pm Monday or Tuesday.
"When booking in, please indicate which day and which church you wish to register," he said.
"If the quota of 10 is complete you will be asked to indicate another day. You must register each week.
"At this stage you can only register for one mass per week," he said.
Father Laurie said hand hygiene and restrictions on places where people will sit in the churches would strictly apply.
"Also know that funerals in the churches have now increased to 20 mourners and 30 for graveside services. Weddings have now increased to 10 persons," he said.
"At this stage all other sacraments and school celebrations in the church are still suspended."
He said the Parish's next live steaming of Sunday Mass would be Sunday, May 24 at the new time of 8am.
To participate go to St Raphael's Parish Cowra Facebook Page.
"This may for many still not be what one would like but it is an improvement and hopefully in the near future more restrictions will be lifted," Father Laurie said.
"We hang in there, continue to pray and support each other."
