At Fitzgeralds Mount, roads spikes were successfully deployed, however the Mitsubishi continued travelling towards Bathurst before it was involved in a minor collision with a police vehicle.
The vehicle stopped and after a brief struggle, the driver, a 41-year-old man was arrested.
He was taken to Bathurst Base Hospital under police guard for treatment of minor injuries.
The man has since been charged with police pursuit - not stop - drive recklessly, destroy or damage property, negligent driving, not give particulars to other driver, responsible person/custodian not disclose driver's details and contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO.
He was refused bail and appeared at Bathurst Local Court on Thursday.
