With a cloudy sky early in the day, and wind gusting up to 46kmh, while the apparent temperature went down to eight degrees, the players found the conditions challenging and very cool, until the sun found the gaps between the clouds.
From the field of 25 players, Brian MCGUINESS with 21 Stableford points for the nine holes, followed closely with five other players on 20 points.
Those players - John MURPHY, Brian GAY, Ray HOUGHTON, John VAN HUIZEN and Ross SKENE - could barely be separated, illustrating the competitiveness and spirited efforts on offer during the day.

The prize winners will have their handicap reduced by three for future veteran events. On the other side of the equation, players who score 16 Stableford points or less, and weren't prize winners, will have their handicap increased by two for veteran events.
