Woodstock artist Dermott Rodwell won the major prize, the Barbara Bennett Memorial Award worth $1000, for his work "Rest Stop" which depicts a train rolling into Woodstock train station while a man sits on a bench feeding magpies.
Mr Rodwell accepted the prize at the exhibition's opening night last Friday at the Cowra Regional Art Gallery.

Award Judge, Jenny Beach, said she admires anyone who enters their work in competitions.
"I just take my hat off to every single person that actually puts something up and exhibits because you really put yourself out there.
"I know artists that have been doing that for a lifetime still have a lot of that nervousness and that fear of actually putting out their work out there in the public space."
Ms Beach said there was a wide variety of works entered.
"There's some wonderful works in it, there's all the different sections and I suppose what I would say is it's really great to see a lot of the colour, a lot of the technique, there's spontaneity in some of these works, it's really lovely," she said.

"The thing that I find really interesting is that some of the artists, now I know who some of the artists are, will have a couple of really different styles, you wouldn't even pick them as being work from the same artist and there's a real skill in that.
"I like to look at the technical skills for one thing but then again, if I can see process in it and development in it.. that's really important as well."
The exhibition will run until Sunday, October 13.
