The 1700m Picnic Cup will headline proceedings, with several horses coming into the meet with strong form ahead of the event, which carries $8000 of prize money.
Doug Gorrel's Southern Gamble won the Doug Allen Grenfell Picnic Cup only last month, while Griffith-based trainer Russell Hogan's Cooee March has placed second in each of its last three meets, suggesting there will be tight competition as trainers look for a win.
Other races that will take place on the day include the 1200m Picnic Sprint as well as two separate Maiden Plates to be raced over 1000m and 1200m respectively.
The meet, which features six races, promises to be a fun and social day for all involved, with most trainers bringing along multiple horses so they can compete in several events, while buses will ferry attendees from local pubs and hotels in the town.
Administered by the Boorowa Picnic Race Club, and with sponsorship from 40 community businesses, gates are set to open at 11am, while racing will begin at 1pm. There will also be a Fashions on the Field competition, at a time TBD.
