TWO people were airlifted to hospital following a serious overnight car accident near Cowra.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the Mid Western Highway north of Cowra at 6.30pm on Wednesday following reports of a crash.
NSW Police Traffic and Highway Patrol Command officers said a vehicle left the road and collided with a pole, then rolled.
“Two patients were reported to be trapped by confinement and injuries,” officers said.
“It is reported the female patient has serious head injuries.”
The Toll Rescue helicopter was dispatched from Orange to airlift then two people to hospital.
“After retrieval by rescue and paramedics, both patients were taken to the Toll Rescue helicopter, being transported directly to Canberra hospital,” officers said.
Investigators were called to the accident scene.
The Mid Western Highway was closed in both directions for a number of hours following the crash with diversions in place for motorists.
RTA Live Traffic states at 7am on Thursday the highway has reopened.
