Profit from the recycling of these batteries will go to Cowra Information and Neighbourhood Centre’s fundraising for a crisis accommodation for families and homeless youth.
If you have any batteries that may be laying around at home, workplace or farm, you can call 6340 1100 and arrange a collection pickup, or arrange a drop off time, if that works better for you.
CINC CEO, Fran Stead, said she is blown away with the generosity of people approaching the organisation in a bid to get this accommodation up off the ground.
“We want to educate people that we actually have a problem in Cowra,” she said.
“This is a massive step forward.”
All money raised will be held in a separate account.
For more information on the scheme, please contact the Cowra Information and Neighbourhood Centre on 6340 1100.
