Hayes represented Country NSW in the Under 14’s and thoroughly enjoyed the week of matches playing against the top 300 players from across Australia in his age group.
There were also junior squads from three A-League clubs involved for the first time this year in the 13th year the championships have been held at Coffs Harbour.
Clayton was named Captain of the Country NSW squad with the team playing eight matches over the week. The first two matches were played in torrential rain which made for tricky conditions.
Clayton said: “I enjoyed the experience playing against the top players from around Australia and thought our squad were better prepared mentally this year for the tough competition”.
“I would like to thank my coaches, NSW Football and my club this year for helping me to get there.”
