Both the trainer and jockey are aiming to get back into the winner’s circle after sharing their latest victories together on May 20 at Young, when Burrells saluted onboard Smart’s trained Kooroora Miss.
She ties with stablemates Leapin’ Leo in a maiden plate (1000m) and Dalhero in the day’s class 2 plate (1400m).
Burrells and Dalhero combined for the mare’s most recent start, which resulted in a third place finish at Cowra on July 15.
It’s Dalhero’s fourth start this preparation following a 10th at Goulburn and sixth at Parkes before the Cowra run.
Leapin’ Leo is first-up since November last year and is looking to break his maiden with Burrells’ 1.5kg claim.
It’s his fourth start and the first time Burrells has been onboard.
Other Cowra trainers Andrew Molloy and Michael Lynch have acceptances on the eight-race program.
Racing starts from 12.40pm.
