Lachlan Ballard-Fisher appeared in Cowra Local Court via audio visual link on January 24, 2024 charged with assault a law officer.
Ballard-Fisher is currently in custody at Bathurst Correctional Centre awaiting sentence for other charges in the District Court.
"This is a quite concerning assault," magistrate Rana Daher said during sentencing.
Defending Ballard-Fisher, solicitor Clive Hill told the court his client had become frustrated that lights in his cell were being turned on and off and "he lashed out".
"He has since apologised to the officer. He realises what he did was quite wrong and disgusting," Mr Hill said.
According to police documents presented to the court Ballard-Fisher was in his cell about 12am on October 20 last year and had covered the cell's cameras with toilet paper which he was refusing to remove.
Police say around 12.30am Ballard-Fisher contact the victim via the cell's intercom system and stated he would remove the toilet paper and asked that his cell lights be turned off.
The accused, according to the documents took the paper off the camera after which the victim walked to his cell and turned the cell lights off.
Police said Ballard-Fisher then asked for more toilet paper and when the officer returned with it a cup of urine was thrown over the officer.
