Police say at 1.10pm yesterday, December 3, a two vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Mid Western Highway and the Lachlan Valley Way towards Gooloogong.
A 69-year-old Molong woman with head and chest injuries was airlifted from the scene and taken to Orange Base Hospital, while the driver of one of the vehicles, a 72-year-old Gooloogong woman, received minor injuries and was conveyed to Cowra Hospital for treatment.
Officer in charge of Cowra Police, Inspector Adam Beard, said there is no apparent cause of the accident at this stage and inquiries will continue.
"At this stage, there's no cause of the accident but both vehicles received significant damage and required towing from the scene," Inspector Beard said.
"The roadway was closed for approximately 50 minutes whilst emergency services responded to the accident."
A single vehicle accident involving two occupants occurred later that day near Godfreys Creek on the Lachlan Valley Way towards Boorowa.
Emergency services were contacted at approximately 7pm and attended the scene.
"From preliminary investigations, it appears as though the vehicle has left the roadway, traveled with a table drain and then has rolled a number of times," Inspector Beard said.
According to police, the driver of the vehicle is believed to be a 17-year-old female, while the passenger is an 18-year-old female.
"The passenger was initially conveyed to Cowra Airport and then airlifted to Liverpool Hospital and the driver was taken to Cowra Hospital," Inspector Beard said.
At this stage, it is unknown where the driver and passenger reside and investigations are continuing as to the cause of the accident.
