Competing in the 4x100m relay, the team of Grace McDonald, Tommy Williams, Harry McDonald & Archie McDonald travelled all the way up to Sydney's Olympic Park for the meet.
They produced their best effort of the day early, generating a personal best in the heats before backing that up with a strong showing in the semi-final, finishing third.
Their efforts in the final were not to be underestimated either, with the team finishing fifth in the 31 degree heat.
It has been a long journey for the group, with their road to the final beginning in May after winning the Cowra District small schools relay against a field of local small schools.
From there they progressed to the Dubbo Western Region competition, placing third to book their trip to Sydney.
In preparation for Thursday's meet, the group undertook eight weeks of training with Brett Blinman of Woodstock, whose expertise proved vital in preparing the group to perform strongly at Homebush.
The group, ranging in age from eight to 12 years of age, wishes to thank Blinman for his efforts in assisting the group to train for the carnival.
Last Thursday's meet was also streamed online, allowing friends, family and fellow students to tune in and support the junior athletes from afar, even if they couldn't be there physically themselves.
