Cowra Motorcycle Racing Club will be running the 2019 Woody Woodpecker Pairs at Woodstock Park Speedway this Sunday, October 20, 2019.
The 500cc pairs event will feature local riders, brothers Ben and Zach Cook, as well as Matthew Gilmore, who will each pair up with a visiting rider to contest the pairs meeting.
The meeting also include the Junior 250cc & 125cc classes with locals Moz Brown, Jasper Freebairn, Billy Brown and Broc White.
For the first time at a local Speedway meeting, the day will feature 16 of the ever popular 50cc riders aged four to nine years of age.
The 50cc have been introduced to the meeting to raise more interest in the speedway which is growing quickly in the region, especially with the Club being granted a Stronger Country Communities Grant for a pit area cover and speedway lights, which will be complete by the end of the year.
The meet also provides an opportunity for a Cowra crowd to see riders from the area who have competed on the international stage throughout 2019, in a club environment that has been crucial in providing formative support..
Gates open at 9.30 am. with the Junior 125s and 50s racing commencing at 11am. Meanwhile, the Junior 250s and 500 Seniors will kick-off at 2pm.
Spectator entry is free, and families are encouraged to come along, with full canteen facilities available.
