Cowra Business Chamber president Jordan Core had these words for representatives from throughout the central west at the 2019 Western NSW regional business of the year awards on Friday.
Mr Core was speaking after Cowra's Business Chamber was named the best business chamber in the central west for the second year running.
The Cowra Grenfell Meals on Wheel's Service also took out a major award at the awards night held in Mudgee.
"By winning this award, it means we can do more for our town, surrounding villages and Central West NSW," Mr Core said.
"Events like the Cowra Business Awards in February are the perfect example of a town coming together to celebrate success, even when times are tough.
"In a time when business confidence is at an all-time low, we have experienced an increase in membership and community action.
"In the last 24 months, we have experienced an overall increase in membership of over 52 per cent, " Mr Core said."
The Cowra Grenfell Meals on Wheels service was named winner of the Excellence in Social Enterprise category which recognises an organisation that trades to tackle social problems, be it social, environmental, cultural or economic.
Accepting the award, service manager Denise Makin said: "we are an innovative, dynamic, on the ground organisation".
"This award recognises the wonderful contribution of our Board, staff, volunteers, and suppliers.
"We are more than just a meal," Ms Makin said.
The Cowra Grenfell Meals on Wheels Food Service is one of the biggest food services in NSW covering 6,500sq kilometres and has been delivering food to the community for 60 years.
Cowra was also represented at Friday's awards ceremony by the Cowra Information Neighbourhood Centre, Cowra Glass, Central Milling and The Salon Collective.
The Business Chamber and Cowra Grenfell Meals on Wheels will now represent the region at the State awards in November.
"The NSW Business Chamber's Business Awards celebrates business excellence in NSW by recognising and rewarding outstanding businesses whose passion, determination, innovation and success inspire other businesses and business people" CEO of NSW Business Chamber Stephen Cartwright said after last Friday's awards.
"Across 14 geographic regions, we showcase the success stories of our members, sharing (these) stories and lessons learned from our finalists and winners," he said.
