Rivers Road resident Nicola Thurgate says her farm business will be impacted if Cowra Shire Council approves an intensive piggery operation on a neighbour's property.

Cowra Shire Council's general committee is recommending the council approve the piggery operation which would see 199 sows and close to 1000 piglets on a free range operation.
Mrs Thurgate distributed a flyer to Rivers Road residents near the piggery asking that they help "keep our waters pristine and our valley air clear".
Mrs Thurgate and her husband Boyd farm on property next to the proposed piggery and asked Cowra Shire Council to give more time before approving a development application for the proposal.
Plans for the proposal first came to light in the first half of last year.
Speaking at last week's council meeting Mrs Thurgate said she and her husband had had three informal meetings with the developer to "try to work things out".
"Some of the concerns we have is the run-off, when we asked if he would do a contour bank along the boundary his response was he didn't want to retain the water on his block.
"When I told him that if I have a cut of lucerne down and could not have manure in it, his response was 'it won't kill it'.
"We have to sell a clean product.
"We also asked if trees could be planted on the boundary and asked if he would reduce the numbers and he said no.
"That is why we produced the flyer, there were no concerns addressed or flexibility.
"All of the surrounding neighbours have objected (to the proposal)," Mrs Thurgate said.
Anyone who wishes to make comment on a piggery proposed for a Rivers Road property near Canowindra has until Monday, March 25 to do so.
Council will consider the project again on March 25.
