Leisure and Lifestyle coordinator, Vanessa Warren, said the day was about providing a positive change in environment for the residents.
"We've had 80s music playing and held a 1980s reminiscing group. The residents talked about 80s fashion and 80s celebrities like Princess Diana, Boy George and Michael Jackson," she said.
"We talked about 80s fashion, shoulder pads and leg warmers, 80s activities like video games and yo-yo's and we talked about events in the 80s like Ronald Reagan being elected as president,"
"In assisting them to get involved I brought a bag of wigs up for the residents," she said.
Mrs Warren thanked the Cowra Salvation Army for helping her to put together an outfit for the day.
The staff and volunteers of Bilyara also held a competition of the best crazy hair on the day.
"The winners of the best hair are Anne Garlick for her awesome unicorn hair style and Fiona Cramp who has naturally Curly hair and spent hours straightening it for the first time in four years," Mrs Warren said.
