Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD) Acting Violence, Abuse and Neglect (VAN) Pathway Coordinator, Danielle Allen said, “The aim of getting everyone together was to create and form new realtionships and have a better understanding of each organsations or groups roles in relation to helping domestic and family violence victims”.
“This will help to ensure we can work together to support victims of domestic and family violence”.
Paticipating members included, the Welfare team from St Vincent de Paul, staff from the Cowra Information and Neighbourhood Centre, Cowra’s Domestic Violence Liaison Officer from NSW Police Jessica Haertsch and Sue Rose, NSW Police Crime Prevention/ Community Safety, Penny Watt from the Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service and Dallas Haynes from the CatholicCare Specialist Homelessness Service.
“The group are pictured with #cowrasaysno signs in support of the local domestic violence awareness campaign for this year White Ribbon day events”.
“The dedication of this group to create positive change for the Cowra community is amazing.
Despite Cowra being a relatively small community, it has a range of services available to support people experiencing domestic and family violence.
“We would also like to make a special mention and thanks to the Cowra Hospital kitchen for providing a delicious afternoon tea for the event,” Danielle said.
