Taking on Grenfell in the season’s first challenge, Cowra was set a target of 149 with opener Jock Mitton top scoring with 41 for Grenfell.
Wilson took the important wicket of Mitton at the top of the order as well as H Mitton before cleaning up most of the tail, dismissing Matrt Starr (0), Ben Scott (5) and Luke Murphy (1) to ensure the Grenfell tail didn’t wag.
In the batting department Cowra welcomed the return of Peter Guthrie (40) who held the Cowra innings together after the fall of three Cowra wickets with the score on just seven runs.
Opener Sam Long (1), Jacob McNaught (0) and Greg Garlick (0) were all dismissed in quick succession before Tom Thaux (24) joined Guthrie at the crease.
Mick Curtale (24), Ben Houghton (27 not out) and Chris Day (22 not out) all made strong contributions as Cowra chased down the Grenfell total.
