His visit was to commit $2000 to the addition of an Honour Roll at the station and to present a 20 year long service clasp to Cowra Fire Captain, Chris Murray.
Mr Grant said he was privileged to join Steph Cooke in providing the funding for the Honour Roll.
“Since 1929 this station alone holds many memories and examples of bravery and outstanding work done by firefighters,” he said.
“To see them honoured within this historic fire station is a great credit to the current members.”
Cowra firefighters Stephen Overman and Brenton Carter said they were hard at work preparing the information for the Honour Roll.
“We are just gathering all the names at the moment,” they said.
“We have records going back forty years, but before that we don’t have them, so if the community can contact us at the station and help us fill in records that would be great.”
