An operation occurred on Saturday, the 7th of January in the Cowra township concentrating on licensed premises. Drug detection dogs were used on a number of premises and as a result, a number of patrons were spoken to and searched by police about knowledge and involvement in drug activity. No arrests were made as a result. This operation is part of a further crackdown on illegal and prohibited drugs within the community.
Steal from motor vehicle
A lady’s wallet and its contents have been stolen from her motor vehicle between 8:30 pm on January, 8th and 6:30 am on January 9th from a eucalypt close residence.
Bushfire
Police attended the scene in rural farm land and contacted RFS who attended the property on mid-western highway and quickly brought the fire under control between 12:35-1:10 pm on the 8th of January. The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.
Malicious damage
A shopfront window was smashed on a retail premises in Macquarie St, Cowra some time between 6 pm on the 8th of January and 7 am on the 10th of January by unknown reasons.
Break and enter
Entry into a Kite St residence was gained after rear door was forced between 10:30 am and 11:10 am on the 5th of January.
Disqualified driver
30 year old Cowra woman stopped and spoken to on Brisbane St, Cowra at 10:30 pm on the 5th of January before her licence was determined to be disqualified. The woman was charged with disqualified driving and will attend Cowra Local Court at a later date.
Offensive language
A 20 year old Cowra man allegedly used offensive language towards police. He is to receive a court attendance notice and is to attend Cowra Local Court at a later date.
Break and enter
Entry was gained into a shed at a Canowindra school after the door was forced. The incident occurred between 4 pm on the 24th of December and 2 pm on the 5th of January. A lawnmower and a hedge trimmer were stolen.
