All members were in favour of purchasing a projector for power point presentations.
One application for the Phillip Group Scholarship has been applied for from South West Group (SWG).
Plans are well underway for our Group Conference to be held in Boorowra on October 17. All trophies except Handicraft and Cookery are to be with Lyn Callaghan, cleaned and engraved ASAP.
Boorowra Branch are holding a fashion parade on September 18 at the Ex Services Club. $5 entry includes afternoon tea.
A CWA trip to New Zealand is being organized for November. Any interested member contact Lyn 63837268.
President Jenny has attended CWA branch events and will finish her term at the Group Conference.
Executive representative, Judy Houghton brought home her first very informative report from head office. $6,000 will be made available to the Prevention of Alcohol and Risk Related Trauma in Youth (PARTY) program.
ACWW World Conference is happening in England. Five delegates are attending.
Awareness Week – 10th to 17th September. The theme this year is “Connectivity”
Education Grants application close on September 30.

International: $5,000 donation has been made to Doctors without Borders.
Agricultural and Environmental: Officer Kathleen gave a very informative talk on Red Cedar, a natural timber related to mahogany.
Handicraft. Leona informed the meeting the next branch project (four members) is a wall hanging depicting tree.
Cultural Officer Carmen congratulated Rowena Casey from Cowra Evening Branch on winning the Cowra Lions Citizens Award. Branches please remember your floral table decoration for the Group Conference.
Cookery Officer Norma Power gave a tip on cooking fruit cakes. Place a straw (millet) in the centre to prevent the cake cracking.
Final Conference Report. Rowena told the members the wind up from Conference is almost finalized. 130 people were personally thanked. The profit of $4,300 will go to good use.
VP Ruth Dainith spoke on the advantages of referring to and keeping the Procedures Manual up to date.
The guest speaker Mark O’Connor, from Harden, told of his plantation of trees for use of firewood. Using a very interesting slide show in his pictures told from the beginning with 30 hectares to now using 60 hectares.
