The local Volunteer Organising Committee for Relay For Life are back at it and have been busy preparing an action-packed, fun-filled event fit for the whole family in 2017.

To get the community excited for the Cowra and Districts Relay For Life on March, 25 and 26, 2017 at Sid Kallas Oval the Volunteer Organising Committee will be launching the event this Saturday.
The organising committee would like to extend the invitation to all past and present participants, cancer survivors, carers, and any member of the public that would be interested in learning more about the wonderful community event or is interested in attending the Cowra & District Relay For Life to come and visit them this Saturday.
The launch will be held on Saturday 13 August on Kendal Street, Cowra from 9am – 1pm. There will be fresh fruit handed out, kindly donated by Coles, helium Balloons, kindly donated by Lachlan Steel Power Tools Plus, as well Dougal Bear making an appearance.
Brock Cameron, committee chairperson encourages everyone in the community to come down and visit them at the launch to have a chat about all of the exciting things that will be happening at the 2017 Cowra and District Relay For Life.

Funds raised at the Cowra and District Relay For Life are invested into Cancer Council’s world-class research, as well as their vital support programs for local people affected by cancer.
Such as Transport To Treatment, Living Well After Cancer, A guide for cancer survivors, their families and friends, and the Cancer Council Helpline 13 11 20 a free, confidential telephone information and support service available to answer questions about cancer and offer emotional or practical support.
As well as community action and prevention programs such as Eat It To Beat It, SunSound, SunSmart the classic program with Sid the seagull teaching us to Slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen, slap on a hat, seek shade and slide on wrap around sunglasses and Tackling Tobacco to name a few.
