The Cowra Club was chartered in November 1959 to become a member of one of the largest women's voluntary service organizations in the world.
Members enjoy working together to help charities-locally, nationally and internationally. They make friends for life.
Charter member Eunice Bishop of "Marandoo" Cowra was unable to attend this celebration, but a Past President Mandy Howard joined with President Anne Holloway to cut the cake.
Member Bev Bundy welcomed all to a table decked outwith Santas and snowmen, bon bons and silver goblets.
Members provided a generous variety of special meats, salads, dessert cake and fruit punch and then listened to the plans for oncoming events.
Cowra will be the Host Club for the 8 District Clubs on Inner Wheel International Day January 10th, 2015.
There will be the ringing of Australia's World Peace Bell in Civic Square, inspecting the ceramics by Stephen Bowers at the Cowra Art Gallery and for those energetic enough, a walk in the Peace Precinct area.
Cowra members will provide morning tea and lunch.
Australia Day January 26th Morning Tea at Civic Centre is hosted by Cowra Inner Wheel and members will be ready to serve beverages from 8.15am followed by morning tea at 10.30am.
The Inner Wheel organization commenced in England in 1924 with members being the wives of Rotarians.
Their emblem is the Wheel inside the (Rotary) wheel.
Now membership is offered to any women who are concerned about their communities, proud to be supporting Cord Blood Research and interested in meeting once a month for friendship.
