Medical Centre Manager, Mary Wood, says the program will mean patients will no longer have to travel to out of town for this service.
"It is coming up to summer, the time of the year when we all need to worry about skin care," she said.
The clinic, which will be run by the practice's senior doctors, will work to identify skin cancers such as melanomas, squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma as well as a whole range of skin conditions.
"The clinic will be open to anyone who would like their skin checked," Ms Wood said.
The Cancer Council recommends regular skin checks from the age of 15, as most melanomas are found on patients between 15 and 40.
Melanomas can be fatal if it is not caught early.
The first sign of melanoma is a new spot, existing spot, freckle or mole that has changed in size, shape or colour.
If you are concerned about new or existing spots on your skin you can call the Kendal Street Medical Centre and make an appointment for their monthly skin clinic.
"If patients are not available on the day of the clinic the practice can make other arrangements to have the skin check undertaken at another time" Ms Wood said.
Bookings for the skin clinic can be made on 6341 1400 or by dropping in to the Kendal Street practice.
