The Gavin Grant Memorial Golf Day will be held this Sunday, October 26, with a 10am shotgun start at the Cowra Golf Club.
His mum, Sharon Grant, says money raised on the day will go towards the charity P2Y (Power to Youth) which helps to support the work of social workers in local schools.
"Our councillors in our schools don't have a lot funding, so sometimes can only have one day week at the school speaking with children in need.
"With extra funding they can stay for an extra day, which gives kids someone to talk to," Mrs Grant said.
"I don't want other young people go through the same thing Gavin did," she said.
"And I want all young people to know that they are loved and that they will be missed desperately when they are gone."
The golf day is for teams of four and costs $12 per team, with the club donating money back for each entry.
"We want all of Gav's friends there, and anyone else, everyone is welcome," Mrs Grant said.
The day will include raffles, a jumping castle and $2 sausage sandwiches.
Trophies on the day include worst driver, best costume, most lost balls, youngest team, golden oldies, most missed swings, furthest travelled and the worst team.
Come and support Gavin's family and friends, with a fun day of remembrance, and raising awareness and money for today's youth. Golfers can sign up the morning of the event.
