After a frosty start to the day on August 1, 2024 the entrants in the days event had the pleasure of playing in sunny conditions on a well presented golf course which saw some impressive scores achieved.

There were 39 Veteran's to play their nine hole stableford event on from the first tee.

Congratulations to Norm Keay who was the star performer for the day with his 23 stableford points, effectively beating his 18 hole handicap by 10, on this nine.

He went to be placed third in the Pro Comp 18 hole event but with a somewhat smaller margin

He was followed by Warwick Stubbing with another good score of 20 points.

These prize winners will have their Veterans 18 Hole Handicap reduced by 3, the other entrants will have their handicap increased by 1.

PRO COMP 18 HOLE EVENT

The Cowra Golf Club's Golf Professional, Tom Perfect's 18 hole stableford event, which is open to all ages, is run conjointly with the Veteran events, with all players using their Golflink handicaps.

From a field 47 entrants which many whom were not Veterans the main prizes were won by Veteran's, with Jefferey Macpherson being the clear winner with 38 points, followed closely by David Spolding and Norm Keay both with 37 points and the order of merit decided on a count back.

The prize winners were:

1st Jefferey Macpherson 38.

2nd David Spolding 37.

3rd Norman Keay 37.

4th Bob D'Elboux 36.

These prize winners also go into the PRO COMP ball sweep, along with: Robert Vidulich 36, Elwyn Ward 36, Ray Salisbury 35, Marc Hinderager 35, John Jensen 34, Joel Conron 33, Don Rocavert 33, John Van Huizen, David Gouge 33, Nicky Basson 33.

Thursday ladies competition

In last Thursday's ladies competition 12 players lined up in the event sponsored by Jenny Armstrong and Lyn Haug with the winner Carmel Mansell on 39 points from Annette Sutherland on 33 points.
