Zac has set his sights on studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Technology Sydney.
The coveted scholarship is limited to just 40 recipients this year.
It covers Zac's college expenses, spanning accommodation, meals, and academic support.
Principal Rob Leach expressed his sentiments about Zac's potential contributions, stating, "Zac Olbourne is a deserving recipient of the 2024 St Andrew's College Scholarship".
"We anticipate his impactful involvement across academic, sports, arts, and cultural dimensions within our community."
Acknowledging the hurdles rural students face in accessing higher education, St Andrew's College aims to alleviate these challenges through strategic financial support via scholarships.
These initiatives aim not only to empower students from diverse backgrounds but also to enrich the college community with their unique talents and perspectives.
Founded in 1867, St Andrew's College has a rich legacy of nurturing accomplished individuals.
Among its alumni roster are 18 Rhodes Scholars, distinguished jurist Doc Evatt, Sydney Harbour Bridge designer John Bradfield, sporting figures, musicians, entrepreneurs, and political leaders.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity, Zac said "This chance to move to Sydney and pursue my academic dreams means the world to me".
"I've always aspired to be an engineer, fascinated by automobiles and their safety mechanisms.
"This scholarship will let me dedicate more time to studies and strive for excellence without the burden of excessive part-time work."
St Andrew's College boasts an extensive scholarship program, annually offering up to $2 million, the most substantial per capita among Australian residential colleges.
