Russell John Dinan, of Neila Lane, did not appear before the court charged with driving a vehicle with an illicit drug in his blood.
However he did leave a message on the record pleading guilty and asking for the matter to be dealt with in his absence.
According to police facts around 10.40am on May 19, Dinan was driving in Comur Street, Yass, when he was stopped by police.
Police spoke to Dinan and his passenger and informed him he had been stopped for random testing.
He produced his licence and returned a negative breath test.
However his oral fluid test returned a positive detection to cannabis.
In sentencing, Magistrate Jillian Kiely said while there was a breach of a court order by his offending, he didn't have a lengthy criminal history.
