For the last couple of years, residents of the Cowra Retirement Village have knitted, as a group, poppies for Remembrance Day.

This year around 650 poppies have been knitted and were put in place in the Village's Orchard area on a slight slope, making a stunning back drop upon the freshly mowed lawn.
The residents held a ceremony, with the meaning of Remembrance Day being read out, as well as the 'Field of Flanders'. two minutes' silence, a prayer and the singing of the Australian national anthem echoed around the precinct.
