A new Cowra Council candidate has drawn top spot on the ballot paper ahead of the local government elections on December 4.

The ballot draw took place on Thursday morning with Returning Officer Gai Gauci on hand to officiate the proceedings and a number of current councillors and candidates in attendance.
A total of 16 candidates will be vying for the nine seats on Cowra Council, with current councillors Bill West, Judi Smith, Peter Wright, Ruth Fagan and Michael Nobes standing for re-election.
Councillors Bruce Miller, Ray Walsh and Kevin Wright have chosen not to contest the election, and former councillor Ian Whitty resigned in August 2020.
The order of the ballot paper is:

- Alexander Cozadinos
- Sharon D'Elboux (independent)
- Peter Wright (independent)
- Rod Buhr (independent)
- Rebecca Morgan (independent)
- Ian Docker (independent)
- Michael Nobes (independent)
- Bill West
- Cheryl Downing (independent)
- Ruth Fagan
- Paul Smith
- Donna Peters (independent)
- Erin Watt
- Judi Smith (independent)
- Simon Bray
