True to the weather forecasts on Thursday morning, October 14 local storms prevailed in the early morning, reducing the field to 28 veteran golfers who took to the course to play a nine Stableford competition from the 10th tee in reasonable playing conditions.

Further storms and rain soon developed which saw six players abandon their rounds.
Elwyn Ward managed the challenging conditions well to win the day, for the Veterans, with 19 stableford points, just one point ahead of Don Rocavert.
Elwyn Ward went on to play well enough over the 18 Holes in the Pro Comp, to be within one point of the winner of that event.

There were seven prize winners who are listed with their stableford score and the 18 hole handicap they played off in brackets.

The prize winners will have their veteran's handicap reduced by three, other entrants will have their handicap increased by one.
SPECIAL NOTICES TO VETERANS.
A) With immediate effect all Cowra Golf Club, Veterans Events, preferred lies must not be taken, and the ball must be played from where it lies, for both nine hole and 18 hole events.
(When Lachlan Valley Veterans Association District competition events are hosted at Cowra preferred lies can be authorised.)
B) On the Thursday 28.10.2021 the John Bland Trophy 18 hole stableford event for Veterans will be held.
C) Cowra Veterans Golfer Association: Annual General Meeting, will be held on the 28.10.2021 at the Club House at 4PM. All positions, namely, President, Vice President, Captain, Vice Captain, Secretary and Treasurer will be declared vacant, and nominations for these positions are invited.
D) Lachlan Valley District events, have been re commenced, with Condobolin being the host on the 21 October 2021, and the Final event for the year to be hosted by West Wyalong on November 18, 2021.
COWRA PRO COMP- 18 HOLE STABLEFORD EVENT:
The Cowra Golf Club's Golf Professional, Tom Perfect's, 18 hole stableford competition, open to all ages and run concurrently with the Veterans event, with 27 starters.
1st Alfonsi Melisi 36 (Stableford Points).
2nd Jamie Judd 35.
3rd Elwyn Ward 35.
