Beath takes out Handicap Singles title

Bowls was back last Saturday after another forced lay-off with 32 bowlers taking to the green.

Prior to the lockdown, Round Three of the Handicap Singles was played results were:

  • Leila Burns def Bob Morgan
  • Michael Baldwin def John Pickard
  • Mick Beath def Dorcas Presnell
  • Alan Anderson def Neville Connor

The semi-finals were played during last week, with Mick Beath defeating Michael Baldwin on Wednesday and Alan Anderson defeating Leila Burns on Friday.

The final was played Saturday and saw Mick Beath defeat Alan Anderson 150-135 to claim his second title for the year.

Congratulations Mick.

This weekend the club will host the opening two rounds of the Four's Championships:

Saturday ,atches (Skips only) - 1pm start

  • Neville Connor v Ken Porter
  • Michael Nobes v Mick Beath
  • Simon Bray v Michael Baldwin
  • Les Houghton (Cobar) v Greg Nicholls

Saturday's winners will play Sunday at 1pm with the final to be played on Saturday, October 23.

The deferred B Grade Singles final between Marc Eisenhauer and Alan Anderson will be played Wednesday, October 20 from 1pm.

Nominations for the Triples are now open, closing on October 22 with the first round to be played on or before Saturday, October 30.

Players wishing to play in the second President's Cup have until Saturday to nominate, with the opening round to be played on Friday, October 22.

The committee hold the right to defer this event should not enough nominations be received.

Following the latest COVID lockdown, it's been decided that the pre-Christmas Business House Bowls will be played over five weeks, commencing on Thursday, November 4.
