Entry is free and contestants register on the night. There are plenty of cash and prizes up for grabs:
Opens (18yrs +)
1st - two return economy flights to NZ and $300 cash
2nd - $300
3rd - $100
Teens (12 to 18yrs)
1st - $250
2nd - $100
3rd - $50
Juniors (Under 12 years)
1st - $100
2nd - $50
3rd - $25
A separate award, "Best Performance of a New Zealand Song", will earn the winner $200 in cash.
