After such a long period of time, and with the addition of the team penning facilities, it's fair to say the course was looking a little worse for wear and needed a few modifications.
With the incredible commitment from the local community, a new sand green was put in place, existing greens renovated, trees pruned and the fairways were brought back to their former state.
"Finally, with everything looking amazing, it was just the anxious wait to see if their was any interest in playing golf at Lyndhurst," club member Ashley Clark said this week.
"No need for the nerves, the kick off was scheduled for 2pm but the cars started rolling in at 12, with 77 players turning up," Clark said.
After tallying up all the results there was tie for the winning team. In the spirit of the day a coin toss selected the outright winner. Tino Saena and Sean Doung were the victors (unlucky with the toss were Dave Gilmore and Struan Pearce). Other competition winners were Tom Ferson for the longest drive and Clint Grambeau for nearest to the pin.
For those who wish to play the Golf Course is open 7 days a week, there is an honesty box located at the first tee ($5 per round for club members and non members). The club will hold Christmas Party and AGM on December 19.
