With Valleys enjoying a week off with the bye and Bowling Club coming off a narrow four run loss last weekend, both sides are keen to play this Saturday.
Bowling Club captain, Paul Basham, said his side had been able to get some players back for this weekend, improving the team's balance.
"We had a lot of players unavailable due to a number of reasons last week," he said.
"We have a few of those back so hopefully it's a more evenly balanced side this week.
"After our first game and not getting much runs up the top order, we're in a bit better position now, so it will be good to see how both teams go against each other," he said.
Basham said his side had been playing good cricket recently and was looking forward to their upcoming games.
"I think we are in a pretty good position, we've dropped a few catches in key points which is a bit disappointing, but that's all we can really work on," he said.
"The rest of it has been fairly well produced, our bowlers have been doing what they need to and most of the batsmen, when they go out, they know their job and they do it pretty well."
Valleys captain, Tom Lamond, said he felt his side was in a good position to take a win.
"I think we are in a pretty good position to be honest, our bowling is starting to come through and our batting is going lovely," he said.
"The first round was a draw so it should be a good game this weekend, it's always a tough, close game against them.
"We've picked a strong team this weekend so we should be a big chance of winning it.
"Each weekend we just need to build and hopefully by March next year we're playing good finals cricket."
Both captains said they had been enjoying the quality of this year's competition.
"It's good having Burrangong in the comp adding an extra team before one of the Grenfell teams had to pull out," Basham said.

"It's also good seeing plenty of kids coming through, especially in the Morongla side, the next generation coming through and hopefully keep us going for a while."
"I'm very happy with the way the season is going, it's a shame Grenfell couldn't get enough numbers for two teams, but I think that's just the way cricket is going these days," Lamond said.
"We haven't played Burrangong yet, we have them next week, so it will be interesting to see how that goes.
"We're a very juniors based club, in our B-grade team there would be five over 18, the rest are all juniors who have come through the Valleys' junior program.
"So it's been great the last two or three years watching them develop and become good senior cricketers."
The only other senior cricket to be played this weekend will see Burrangong Bears hosting Morongla at Miller Henry Oval.
