Colin Desmond Izard, of Waddell Street, represented himself and was before the court charged with a driver never being licenced.
According to police facts, around 1.50pm, July 29, police were conducting stationary random testing on Tilga Street, Canowindra, when they observed a Ford Falcon traveling towards them.
Police indicated for the vehicle to stop for testing.
Police introduced themselves and asked the driver, Izard, for his licence.
Izard told police, "I don't have one on me, I haven't held a licence in a long time".
He then provided police with his details and returned a negative breath test.
Police conducted checks on the information supplied and found Izard had held a NSW learner's licence, which had expired on April 25, 1997, and had not held a licence in any other state since that date.
Izard told the court it was "sheer stupidity" on his part for why he had been driving at the time.
In sentencing, Mr O'Brien said Izard needed to not drive until he had the privilege to do so and had a "licence in your hot little hand".
