PARCHED parts of the region received much-needed rainfall on the weekend as a band of thunderstorms rolled across Western NSW.

The widespread thunderstorms brought as much as 70 millimetres of rain to Brewarrina, while Bourke had 92mm across the two days and Cobar received 42.0mm.
While much less rainfall fell in this region, the downpours were still a very welcome sight.
Orange received the most rain during the weekend with 18.6mm recorded by the Bureau of Meteorology's gauge at the city's airport.
Young was not too far behind with 18.2mm during the two days, while Cowra had 15.4mm, Bathurst 14.8mm, Dubbo 13.0mm, Lithgow 12.2mm and Parkes 10.0mm.

During the weekend 9.6mm of rain was recorded in Mudgee, while Forbes had 9.4mm.
Mostly sunny weather is predicted for the remainder of the week.
