For only the second time, a number of awards were given out to staff members across different categories. The winners and the reason for their nominations were:
Kathy Martin - Staff Excellence in Housekeeping and Maintenance
"Kathy always goes above and beyond with her role as head cleaner. Nothing is ever too much for Kathy to handle and she is always willing to take on any task."
Shaun Darling - Staff Excellence in Residential Care
"Shaun has added a fresh dimension to the already great activities program. He manages to deliver an energetic, strong and caring approach that has elicited a very appreciative response from residents.
"His imaginative efforts, his very friendly and outgoing, happy manner has encouraged a wider participation in activities."
Sonja Barlett - Staff Excellence in Catering
"Sonja is a major part of our daily routines.
"She ensures meals are prepared and ready on time with the help of other kitchen staff.
"Sonja shows great pride in not only her delicious meals but also as a human being. Sonja has a lot of potential and deserves to be recognised."
Meg Brooks - Staff Excellence in Community
"Very caring and good at her job."
Anne Garlick - Staff Excellence in Administration
"A receptionist is the face of any business and creates the first impression of that business.
"Anne has a friendly, helpful manner, always ready to steer one in the right direction and go out of her way to sort out any problems, this between answering the phone and dealing with people at reception, I imagine at times would create a deal of pressure."
Evelyn Gillham - Employee of the Year
"A hard worker, very professional and always works as a team, best of luck to her.
"Very caring, a good team leader.
"Always supportive no matter what, a very good role model, very fun to work with and very encouraging."
