A severe weather outlook released by the Bureau of Meteorology earlier this month predicted more heatwaves for the region and a higher chance of bushfires.
And, already the predictions for very hot weather are coming true with high temperatures expected from Wednesday until Friday.
During that time the hottest locations will be in Dubbo and Wellington with the mercury set to soar to 35 degrees.
This is way above Dubbo's long term October maximum of 25.1 degrees and also above Wellington's of 24.9.
Forbes' predicted top of 34 is also above its long term monthly top of 25.0 degrees.
