Due to the severe drought conditions general security water users in the Belubula Regulated River Water Source, the following s324 order applies:
A temporary water restriction has been made to allow access from October 1, 2019 to no more than 40 per cent of water held in general security access water allocation accounts as at September 30, 2019.
The carryover restriction will be in place from October 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020.
This action is vital to reserve remaining water for critical human and high priority needs and the approach is consistent with the NSW Extreme Events Policy.
The carryover restriction is in response to extremely low inflows and high delivery loss.
As a result, general security restrictions are necessary to maintain water for essential supplies through 2019/20.
Supplies to critical human and high priority needs will be under greater pressure in the 2019/20 water year without this intervention.
