Men's Seniors
It was a familiar script for the senior Cowra Eagles when they were defeated 2-0 by Barnstoneworth United in the minor semi-final of the A Grade tournament on Saturday afternoon.
Travelling over to Jack Brabham Park, Cowra as always, worked hard to control the ball, ensuring that they had several more opportunities than to score, but they just weren't able to convert.
United were clinical with the limited opportunities they did have, managing to put two shots to the back of the net while showing plenty of grit and determination to hold the Eagles scoreless.
Lucas Hayes, Bevan Foxall and Emerson Baratto were named best afield for the Eagles.
Men's Reserves
The men's reserves will play off for a second division premiership in C Grade after winning 1-0 against Blayney on Saturday afternoon at Edgell Park.
The only team that Cowra has lost to since dropping down to the third grade earlier in the year, the Eagles were keen to prove a point, but it wasn't necessarily easy to make that clear early.
However, by the second half, it was the Eagles who had the lead, with Ethan Gray crossing with accuracy to Luke Boyd, who struck a volley into the goal's top corner.
The team will play the winner of the Blayney and Denley Moor Over 35s match-up next weekend.
