It was an extremely challenging day for the 2019 Cowra Open, with wind and rain early forcing a weather delay for 2 hours as the greens became unplayable.

At around 11 the weather cleared and we were able to get play under way again at 11:30.
The event was shortened from 27 to 18 holes to ensure we got the event completed.
Once play began the weather was extremely kind and remained clear for the remainder of the day which allowed everybody to complete their rounds.
Scratch Results
The scores were extremely good in tough conditions with Andrew Tharle from Royal Canberra firing 70 (1 under par) to win by 2 over Steve Betland from Forbes Golf Club.
B grade was a tied after 18 holes and required a play off between Jeff MacPherson from Cowra and Chris Lamont from Shelly Beach to decide the winner after they were tied on 85. Chris edged out Jeff on the second play off hole to claim the B grade title.
C grade was won by Clive Wilson from Cowra Golf Club with a score of 93, 3 shots in front of Chris Quigley from Richmond golf club 96.
In the ladies event Kelly Quigley from Castle Hill Golf Club took the win with 94 from Julie Finn Richmond golf club on 100.
HANDICAP RESULTS
The handicap honours in A grade went to Marty Stevens (Cowra) with nett 70 from Andrew Dukes (Parkes) on nett 72.
B grade was Graham Thompson (Cowra) with nett 74 on a countback from David Thomas (Cowra) also 74.
C grade went to Chris Baratto (Cowra) with nett 75, one shot in front of Warwick Spence (Cowra) nett 76.
Ladies was Helen Moriarty (Cowra) with a nett score of 83 from Judy Benson (Richmond) on nett 87.
