The school is in the running for funding through the NSW Government's My Community Project to create a Health Hub for use by students of Cowra High and all partner primary schools.
Cowra High School Deputy Principal, Anthony Hamer, said students' wellbeing has a direct correlation with their ability to learn and engage at school in a positive manner.
"If they are fit to learn, they will learn," he said.
"Government changes brought it to the forefront, students who learn best, experience positive wellbeing."
Citing similar programs at schools in Young and Forbes, Mr Hamer said the hub would enable the school to bring all of their health, wellbeing and cultural programs, such as the Learning Hub, under the one umbrella in a purpose-built facility.
"It's a health and learning hub, everything under the one roof," he said.
"The learning hub would morph and grow... there would be crossover with our cultural programs."
The hub would also be able to provide professional specialist services onsite to minimise disruption to schooling and maximise access to services otherwise unavailable to the community.
"There will be space for external agencies and we will open it up to partner schools," Mr Hamer said.
Mr Hamer said the project has already received support from partner primary schools in the area, as well as local community agencies and services.
"Cowra High, P&C and partner schools have the support of travelling professionals, ready for immediate commencement and staffing of the Hub," he said.
"P&C, all schools and families who stand to benefit, along with local tradespeople, who have vouched support, look forward to commencing construction of a physical space immediately."
Mr Hamer said he hoped, if the school was successful in receiving money from the My Community Project scheme, it will encourage more funding down the track.
"It's a good springboard to get some funding," he said.
The My Community Project scheme is voted on by residents of different electorates across the state.
To vote for the Health Hub, visit https://mycommunityproject.service.nsw.gov.au/projects, create a MyServiceNSW account, select the "Cootamundra" electorate and scroll to find Cowra High School option.
Residents can vote for between three and five projects and voting closes August 15.
Cowra High School will also be holding an information session on Wednesday, August 1 from 5pm until 6.30pm at the school.
The public is invited to attend and the night will feature a presentation, a barbecue and a dance performance.
