The Eagles started well, moving the ball smartly on a pitch that can only be described as "bumpy".
Cowra deserved their first goal through Shaun Mortyne, who slotted a nice volley into the top of the net.
Although Waratah's were being dominated, their enthusiasm kept them in the game and they were rewarded with an equaliser to make the halftime score 1-1.
The second was the same as the first, with Cowra on top for most of the period.
Again Shaun Mortyne scored to make it 2-1.
United just wouldn't give up and kept up pressure on the Eagles' defence.
Unlucky for Cowra, Waratahs scored through an own goal and the game was level.
In the final minutes, Cowra were rewarded a penalty which unfortunately was missed and the score stayed at 2-2.
Cowra really dominated for most of the match but a few lapses in both defence and attack let the Eagles down.
Second grade
The games against CYMS was deferred to a later date.
