They are best mates who've all had a brush with cancer, now they'll be having a brush with the clippers in order to raise funds for cancer research.
Jimmy Buckley, Chris Murray, Sarah Heidke, Helen Moriarty and Laurie Chew will all be shaving their heads at the Cowra Bowling Club on Friday, July 19 at 8pm as a fundraiser for the Cancer Council.
Mr Buckley, who organised the fundraiser, said it was about helping to create a better outcome for cancer patients.
"My wife had cancer and I've run into a lot of people since that have been touched by cancer and thought there was a need for more research into it," he said.
"The group I've got together they are all my mates and everyone of us have been touched by cancer in one way or another.
"We want to create better outcomes for those who suffer from cancer," he said.
The group agreed saying their friendship with Jimmy brought them on board.
"Jimmy looked after my father when he had cancer, he lived in the same street and used to get dad out and about, now my sister is going through a cancer fight," Helen Moriarty said.
"My wife is going through the tail end of her cancer experience, we've been at it for the last nine months," Laurie Chew added.
"So when Jimmy rang me up and when he explained it... I thought it was the right thing to do."
"It's showing everyone that anything helps," Sarah Heidke said.
The group will also be holding a barbecue fundraiser this Saturday from 10am to 2pm outside of Woolworths with the help of the Cowra Fire and Rescue brigade.
There will be a raffle on the night with prizes being donated from the Imperial Hotel, Rapt In Gifts and Bushmans Boots and All. Tickets are available from the head shave participants, $2 per ticket or three for $5.
